They bought an eheim1060 off me on trade-me and i am having difficulty contacting them to arrange payment and delivery. Thanks
wasp
I saw the auction, I wonder if he now feels he paid to much for a 2 year old pump.
chimera
 $120 is about right.
RnB
you have PM - i give you the money for it if he not appear..... ehiems last for YEARS and are just great utility pumps.... Peter
Aquatopia
Thanks for the ratification Chimera. I think anywhere between $115-130 is a perfectly fair price for such an item, as you and anyone else in the hobby with any brains knows ! If he thinks its an unfair price then he is missing out ! Aquatopia
WARNING:- My advice is that you do not trade with trader paul397 on trade-me. He bought this from me and is refusing to pay claiming he has changed his mind and bought a pair elsewhere. His details have been passed to trade-me, but i thought you should all benefit from knowing about people who pull out of legally binding contracts !!! What a moron ! Ira
I think an economist would say that an auction defines the fair price of the item. If someone is willing and able to pay it, then that's the value of the item. In this case, it's short circuited by an idiot.
Aquatopia
I couldnt agree more Ira. The fact that it is now sold to someone who recognises value for money ratifies the price he paid. Its just that he is one of those losers who considers it acceptable to muck people around. What goes around, comes around. Im sure he will get his just rewards. The ones he has bought will undoubtedly burn out on him and flood his living room carpet, hehehehe
chimera
whadda loser, man i hate when people do that. a real waste of your time. at least rnb will buy it off ya now for the right price
Ira
I wonder what he actually bought? I managed to get 2 Laguna Powerjet 5000s for $180. That's about 5-6 times the flow of a 1060. Of course, one of them was replaced because it would stop running for no reason, but that was replaced with one that runs perfectly AND I got to keep the old one. Aquatopia
If i was to print the emails he sent me basically laughing in my face at the fact he has flouted Trade-ME rules then you would not say he was a nice bloke. In my opinion he is a disrespectful ignorant self absorbed cretin. Still, i have moved on.... (And sold the item to a MUCH nicer and more deserving bloke). As far as $150 new - i doubt it ! Snowman
If he's something to do with an internet cafe in Napier why does he list his location as Waiheke Island???? Seems to be a compulsive liar as well as a rogue. There are a few on trade me that think they are cool mucking people around but IMO they are mistaking cool for fool. Snowman
Funnily enough paul397 on trade me has the name slapper attached to his account so i assume he is slapmemonkey trying to defend himself... Aquatopia
Snowman - what a super sleuth you are. I wonder if you are right. Perhaps he is feeling guilty !
Aquatopia
Anyway guys. Thanks for all your supportive comments. This thread only started as i was trying to do the purchaser a favour and try to contact him. And i dont want to waste space on this website with any kind of character assassination. So lets leave things at that now. Happy Fishkeeping all. Cheers
chimera
hahahaaa, most probably a 12 year old school boy with no money and no friends. $150 new is almost a joke in itself, even a wholesaler who can buy one at that price would be laughing. i have 2 x 1060's for sale (second hand) and want $120 each for them. not sure whether i'll sell both (so bloody handy to have as they're grunty little pumps), i'll sell at least one 1060 though if anyone is interested for $120 (no offers otherwise i'd rather keep hold of it!) - and moderators please dont move this to private trade and exchange, i'll only sell if someone happens to read this and needs one

A auction determines the market price of such and there is plenty of people online on trademe to determine a fair price. If you can't pay or aren't committed to a sale, then don't bid. It's as simple as that.
