peter1283
I'm struggling to find where to get a simple but high quality tank for aquascaping, you know, ADA-style, 60-90cm, without bells and whistles. Any ideas? Also, is there any sort of aquascaping community in Auckland/NZ?
livingart
You have a couple of good aquascapers in the Auckland club try contacting them

Adrienne
Click on Tank Builder in the link. Greg Kingston - Tanks2U - builds a large number of tanks in Auckland

Caryl
I think that is the first time I have heard someone say they were not satisfied with the work done by Greg and he has certainly built a lot of tanks over the years from what I have heard. Well, maybe I'm just unlucky. But I have this tank in front of me - the bottom is 1-2mm bigger than sides (not flush with sides), sides again 1-2mm higher/lower than front/back, glass cutting quality is poor, so I can't be sure there's even layer of silicon everywhere. I mean it's "ok", I don't think it will break or leak, but it's not a nice clean aquascaping tank I was after, and not a quality you'd expect from a person with many years experience. I didn't come here to write bad things about Greg, sorry if it was inappropriate.
Caryl
I did not see it as writing bad things about him, you were just stating you were not happy with the quality and from your description, I am not surprised. I wonder if he is now so busy he has others working with him and quality control has slipped? I have no idea, I do not know the man, or his business, just only ever heard people raving about his tanks so was surprised to see a negative. I have always had my tanks built by glaziers. I have never bought a full set-up from an aquatic shop.
Adrienne
Fair comment I believe he is still working alone. I think there are others who do build them. I'll message you the name of one person who can, and occasionally does build lovely tanks but it is by no means his regular occupation and I don't know if he would have enough time.
