Adrienne
Go to the search button on the top right of the page and type in mollie hunt. That will bring up a few discussions as to where they are. I gather the water is pretty hot so take gumboots. I am not certain but I think I recall a discussion about the local iwi not being terribly keen in allowing people on their land. I inherited one of the wild mollies. Plain little fish and it crossbred with one of my guppies! I gather they can be quite difficult to keep in tanks and quite a big mortality rate transporting them back. blueether
The Freshwater Fishes of NZ book says that Swordtails might not exist there anymore. There were some taken into a taupo store last year (?) that were wild caught, so they still exist.
