GouramiLover19
Thanks for that! Are you taking about fake or real plants? i hurd they eat real plants? and then substrate (gravel) has to be quite chunky not sand?
Silverdollarboy2
Yes they do eat real plants. For adult fancys I'd recomend 100 litres to start with and then an extra 40 litres per fish.Normal goldfish get huge and therefore they should only be kept in very large tanks or ponds. Benjansss
It depends on the plants some they wont touch others will be gone in an hour (i do mean live ones) a bit of trial and error is what it takes
Caryl
Do not get any short finned varieties as these should be kept in ponds. 120L or 3ft long would be minimum suitable size for an aquarium. I gather plants from the local river so save a fortune when they are uprooted or eaten The fancier types do not destroy plants like the faster, short finned varieties. Make sure you have very good filtration.

Silverdollarboy2
Should be fine if you have good filtration.

Adrienne
The fancier ones are genetically modified, suffer many health issues including swim bladder problems so if getting fancy ones please do not feed them flake. Feed them sinking pellets as when they come to the surface to eat floating flakes they inhale air, it gets into their swim bladder and because the internal organs are squashed, the fish struggles to release gas. The fancier the more modified.
