Silverdollarboy2
I bought some driftwood and would like to know if I have to to anything to it before I put it in the tank?
Ira
I bought some driftwood and would like to know if I have to to anything to it before I put it in the tank? You bought driftwood? Why? Just throw it in the tank and weigh it down until it sinks. You can go through a bunch of work boiling it to make it sink, but there's no point, just throw it in the tank and put a rock on it. blueether
take the lid off, and the lights. This will make getting it in much easier. :lar: But seriously, rinse any dust off and all should be fine

Adrienne
Has it sunk? Sometimes it will float and if that happens you have two options - be patient and wait for it to waterlog and eventually sink, or use something like rocks to hold it down. There is a third option which I have used before and that is to screw a plate on to the bottom of the wood and cover the plate with gravel. kinnadian
I've bought drift wood in the past because it is bog wood and specifically heavier than water, so will always sink. Saves waiting 3+ months for it to get waterlogged
