livingart
from the fisheries act 195Fish in excess of certain quantities deemed to have been acquired or possessed for purpose of sale For the purpose of this Act, any person in possession of any fish, aquatic life, or seaweed of an amount or quantity exceeding 3 times the amateur individual daily limit (if any) prescribed in respect of that fish, aquatic life, or seaweed, shall, in the absence of proof to the contrary, be deemed to have acquired, or to possess, the fish, aquatic life, or seaweed for the purpose of sale unless the fish, aquatic life, or seaweed was lawfully taken by a person under regulations made under section 186. Compare: 1983 No 14 s 103A; 1990 No 29 s 49; 1992 No 121 s 35 so you cannot take or breed any native aquatic life for the purpose of sale without a permit

ottdurr
Remember there is no crime in simply giving them away. If they start overpopulating your tank simply donate them to someone, don't release them into the wild. On a side note, how did you get them to breed?
