malawi_man
Hi Guys, Just looking for a bit of advice: I currently have a 1200x450x450 tank in my lounge. House is about 2 years old, but wooden floor. I'm looking to upgrade to a 1500x600x600, so an extra 25% weight per floor area. Is this going to be an issue? cheers Dan
Godly3vil
No. I would be seriously concerned if it was especially considering the house is reasonably new. Just try to position it so that it sits across a couple of support beams.
Adrienne
I would imagine it will depend on where the tank is placed relevant to your floor joists.
#!CrunchBang
What is the base of the tank? A table with 4 legs, a rectangular frame or a sheet of plywood? It really depends on how the pressure is applied every floor should be able to hold more than 100kg in the area of the heal of a foot, so it shouldn't matter much if you spread the weight out. malawi_man
It will be a rectangular steel frame, so weight will be spread pretty evenly. Looks like I'm good to go!
