Thr33Swords
Hi guys, I am in urgent need of containers that will allow me to move my 500 litre planted tank tomorrow. I would like to save as much of the water as I can, at least 50% of it if possible. Does anyone have containers I can borrow? I would be eternally grateful for your help! Thanks all! Dr A
Get a barrel? What you really want is someone with an IBC and a trailer.
Thr33Swords
This move is somewhat unexpected. I believe I am going through a break up with my girlfriend of 2 years, and that is why I need to move this tank. I don't at this stage have any money to out towards moving, hence why I turn to the forums for help... thanks for the idea though.
M@.
Normally when people ask questions like this someone will say: All the bacteria is in the filter and substrate, so there is no need to transport much, if any water, and it will just mean you will have to acclimatise the fish slowly as if you are moving them to a completely new tank. I have never moved a big tank before though, so just second hand info
ryanjury
I have around 3 20L containers with lids. It is a good idea to keep as much water as possible but I generally try and move enough to get a filter and heater running and then top up over a number of days. Thr33Swords
well, at the very least I want to be able to put the plants, gravel and filter media in water. It would appear I may have found a 200 litre drum, so will see how I go Thank you everyone.
