steve0
Hey guys, I'm thinking of getting a couple of Dwarf gourami's and will need some floating plants in my tank. Any advice on them would be awesome ( my first planted tank). Also I have some amublia coming and also purchased what he called green pine after googling this I can't seem to find any info on it. Does green pine go by another name? Thanks.
disgustipated
riccia is good surface plant. gets thick and bushy and doesn't need to be attached to anything. talk to godlyevil for some riccia. ambulia will also grow to the top and then grow horizontally thus covering the surface of the water, you probably already know this... Jennifer
Ceratopteris thalictroides (Indian fern) works very well for that type of tank.

Well I have already paid for the green pine so may as well chuck it in and see what happens. It can't do any harm could it?

calculator
I use indian fern as a floating plant. It looks cool, especially when when it gets larger.

calculator
I forgot to mention that I find a bubble nest in mine a few times a year (I have one male gourami, He has problems...)
steve0
I forgot to mention that I find a bubble nest in mine a few times a year (I have one male gourami, He has problems...) That sounds like what I need Also since they breathe air at the surface is it going to be a problem having an enclosed lid? I know its not air tight but is it bad for them breathing warm humid air I guess not but want to be sure
