Hi guys, a pair of my emperor tetra have mated :happy2:, and I am wondering if anyone knows how long it takes for them to lay their eggs?

thanks, Sam

Sam, it sounds like we need to have a little talk about the birds and the bumblebee gobies...

If you have the right conditions in the aquarium, ie plenty of clumps of moss or spawning mops near the bottom the female will scatter eggs during the courting process. They do not lay, as in attach their eggs to the glass or rocks but they just release (scsatter) them and if there is plenty of cover the eggs will not be eaten by the parents. Have a look at this link http://www.seriouslyfish.com/species/hy ... n-amandae/
