snapperhead
Are all silicones safe and don't cause any harm to fish? I have Parfix, bathroom and kitchen sanitary grade silicone sealant. It has acetic cure. Not intending to use it on glass but for joining some decorations together.

There is aquarium grade which as you would assume is safe for aquariums, and a couple of other neutral cure more trade oriented silicons which you would need to double check on but can be much cheapper
Sophia
if it says it has mould inhibitor it's not safe for critters

snapperhead
Could glue from a hot glue gun be used?
Sophia
I think so but I don't think it sticks after a while under water. Superglue is safe, funnily enough.

alanmin4304
If it is for bathrooms it will contain mould inhibitors. Hot glue gun is all right.
Ira
I think so but I don't think it sticks after a while under water. Superglue is safe, funnily enough. Yup, superglue is fine. Gel would probably be better if you're using it on uneven surfaces. Aquakneadit should be good too though more visible.
Sophia
Yes, I've used Aquakneadit too, was good stuff. Is white under water though, like Ira says.
snapperhead
Thanks for the help guys. Will try using the hot glue gun and I just found out that super glue is safe to use in the aquarium!
