Godly3vil
I had a chance to get some of these a few weeks back but the bank (woman) said no, I actually expected the price to be higher so may have to ask her again lol, $500 sounds better than the $750 that I guessed. doddle69
i would but cant risk the shipping to get them down here :tears:
smidey
being from the wild, would they be harder to keep alive compared to 100th generation tank fish?
henward
spoken to the importer prior to them arriving. the company catches them from the wild and keeps them in holding tanks until they eat prepared foods, then ship them out. i dont believe they will be harder, i actually think they will be hardier perhaps? not inbred at all. Discusguru
i would but cant risk the shipping to get them down here :tears: If they can survive 60 odd hrs of flight from Brazil , overnight shipping here is nothing. They are easier to keep compare to the domestic bred variety and the shape are rounder. Ron

Discusguru
Well, you know that i'm discus crazy so have to get them as soon as i saw them :nfs: :slfg: . They might not be imported again.
henward
It is a shame that the offspring from wild caught discus look different to wild discus! but at least its still wild, i would assume that a more diverse genetic pool would mean stronger fish perhaps? henward
and they couldn't have gone to a better home. i hope you are able to produce many more generations from these ones. will their offspring not look the same? seems odd.. beyond my knowledge though. suppsedly, they look very different if bred in captivity. perhaps is a wild diet or environs affecting the fish itself. who knows, but apparently they end up looking qutie different. still looks cool though! Discusguru
Getting the wild to breed is not as easy as the domestic type. The bigger the genetic pool will produce better stronger offspring.

Are you using RO?
