Scarletmonuka
LFS has just started stocking it and its realitively cheap.. cheaper then the JBL and Aquarian stuff.. Just wondering if its a decent quaility or are we just buying cheap junk? cheers
Joe
I use it and it is one of the nicest foods I have ever bought. However my fish will not touch any dry food of any description, so I feed the flake to my blackworms and of course I feed the worms to the fish

disgustipated
Hikari is better:D sometimes i wonder if hikari is paying you for all the direct marketing you do for them
henward
sometimes i wonder if hikari is paying you for all the direct marketing you do for them Haha, i wish! i wish i could get some sponsorship for my set up! but no, unfortunately not lol i just love hikari. i have tried many foods, and hikari growth and the fin growth on fish is absolutely spectacular, i havent tried omega one actually. But i dont see the point of trying something else for now. Hikari - ICHIBAN!
disgustipated
i agree with you on that bro. have you written to them and asked them? maybe they could send you a free pack or two of massivore - you must go through a lot of that stuff! must cost you a mint! henward
actually, right now i dont go through it much at all anymore. cut down, eventually sure, but not right now. i go through very very little lol i have 6 fish in total:D from 80ish fish! so i dont use much now. they wont do it. i source it another way and i get it cheaper anyways, half price roughly when i used heaps, it is only worth parallel importing IF you use heaps, if you dont, then its actually ok to buy from the lfs here, I would support HFF being in auckland with fish food and products when i can. disgustipated
just quietly, ronnie at pupuke has it for much cheaper
henward
lol yeah, maybe - No offence though to anyone, but i find that HFF 'lobbies' to get species in , they take requests and they have the biggest buying power when it comes to fish, sometimes they even get fish that no one else can get such as the banded knives a while back. i personally would suppor them, largely cos its in my best interest also due to the species they could potentially get in:D
Joe
Haven't tried Hikari but once I've finished the Omega One flake I will give it a go and see how I find it Also I forgot to add the Omega One flake smells very natural and it does not cloud the water unless you soak it in water and really crush it up before putting it in the tank (this is what I do for the worms), and even still it doesn't actually cloud the water that much. camtang
How much does this Hikari food cost?
disgustipated
for the good stuff you're looking around $25 for a small bag, and $60 for a big bag. there is cheaper stuff too, such as hikari gold, which is around $10 for a small bag, $25 for a big one.
