Caryl
...OVER-HEARD ON ANTARCTIC CRUISES ..... Why are they called the Seven Islands? How far round does the coast go? What happens if the water gets higher than my boots? Is the great Auk still extinct? Is this island completely surrounded by water? Is that the same moon we get in Texas? Is there such a thing as a female sperm whale? Are there any more undiscovered islands? What happens to an iceberg when it melts? Does the lift go up as well as down? Does the crew sleep on the ship? Do the Vikings still cause ethnic problems? At what latitude do seals turn into walruses? When we get closer to the pole does it mean it will be more difficult to open those doors? When we leave here, when do we start to move?
lmsmith
...OVER-HEARD ON ANTARCTIC CRUISES ..... Why are they called the Seven Islands? The guy who named them - his favourite number was seven How far round does the coast go? Another 100m. Then it just stops. What happens if the water gets higher than my boots? Just make sure you shut your mouth when that happens. Is the great Auk still extinct? No! We found a whole colony! Is this island completely surrounded by water? Only this bit you can see, the rest is all land. Is that the same moon we get in Texas? Don't be silly, this is the southern hemisphere moon, we have our own Is there such a thing as a female sperm whale? Well, not exactly, there are female egg whales though. Are there any more undiscovered islands? No, this is definitely the last one. What happens to an iceberg when it melts? It yells 'I'm meeeellllltinnnnng' Does the lift go up as well as down? No, you take the other lift if you want to go up. Does the crew sleep on the ship? No, that's why we pay them so well, they don't sleep the whole trip. Do the Vikings still cause ethnic problems? ARE YOU A VIKING!? At what latitude do seals turn into walruses? If they're heading north, they're walruses. If they're going south, seals. When we get closer to the pole does it mean it will be more difficult to open those doors? Yes, and if we were to be exactly on the pole, it would be totally impossible to open them. When we leave here, when do we start to move? About 6 hours after we leave, weather dependant of course.
