Scarletmonuka
will Severum's go with angels? or they gonna be to agressive?
David R
In an appropriate sized tank it will be fine. Starting with larger angels and small severums would be advisable.
Scarletmonuka
300 Litres (1.2m long) angels are already adults
David R
Possibly a bit on the small side, but if the angels are adults you could try add a small sev and see how it goes. Would certainly avoid a pair in that size tank tho.
F15hguy
IME works ok as long as from a smaller size, the severums get quite a bit bigger too so you may have problems later on. also if anyone decides to breed say bye bye to nice clean fins and possible other body parts. good options also are Jurupari/Surinamensis type geos, Firemouths, and I have seen a tank coexisting peacefully with 1 female electric yellow in with 6 angels. David R
tank is a bit over double yours tho (~720L). It is do-able, but TBH I'd think twice about it in a tank of that size, perhaps opt for some smaller cichlids like keyholes or festivums. David R
I was expecting hate for the plastic plants!!! Not mine BTW, belongs to JCardona1 on MFK, it was the first thing that sprung to mind when I saw this thread...
Ira
I was expecting hate for the plastic plants!!! Why? Judging from the fish in there plastic plants look better than dug up stumps.
SamH
That tank looks superb! Almost makes me wanna go big
David R
Why? because they are made of plastic.
F15hguy
that is because that is TASTEFUL plastic plants. would any one honestly argue with a tank like this???
SamH
The yellow plants up the middle look dead but the rest is alright. I enjoy live plants but I can see how someone who is only interested in fish would find that appealing.
henward
Plastic plants have its place.... when the fish in the tank would destroy plants... then use plastic 8) or a few to obsure over flows, provide shade for hiding fish like clown knives in a large bare bottom tank... tie/staple them to drift wood and let them float upwards or by a powerhead to have a natural movement type thing

Can't deny that perfect look, especially from afar though!
camtang
I find it hard to find plastic plants that look realistic enough for my liking.
