blueether
I got my self a 300 one of them - double powerheads. Not used on a salt tank yet, still need to set up the tank, but looks to run ok when I tested it out

raeh1
Hey an Aqua one skimmer is a cheaper option. Good as a starter. But as you get more experience you'll wish to upgrade to a higher performing skimmer.
RUNAS
Ive been looking at upgrading my skimmer, so I watch this with interest, seeing what experienced people would have to say on what brands should be considered, surprised that really nothing has been suggested. Bubble Magnus, Aqua One, Deltec :dunno: Come on, loosen up the information belts people  RUNAS
si_sphinx
I have just got a bubble magnus curve 7 skimmer after reading good reviews about it. I havent used it yet but i will let everyone know in my build thread when im ready to start my tank.
raeh1
nothing wrong with reef octopus or bubble magus they both do great jobs
lmsmith
I used to have a bubble magnus, and now have an aquaone Aqua One Proskim G220 (I think). The difference I see is there were more bubbles on the bubble magnus, which was better for producing dry skimmate. I think for the price, the aqua one skimmers are pretty good. I also had a reef octopus in sump and another HOB and they did ok - nothing like the aquaone or BM though.
Matto
My Lfs uses a aquaone on his display tank it does a good job but it's pretty wet, from what I have read bubble Magnus is the way to go if you want a higher performance skimmer
seahorses4me
Does anyone no how good the HAQOS Protien skimmer-needle wheel-PS-
spoon
i would probably go with a less obscure brand of skimmer . are you looking for an external or an internal type you will need a sump with enough room for an internal type . i have a BM nac6 works fine would reccomend them for a cheap skimmer that actually works Bubble magnus make good external types as well they are quite large which is not a bad thing unless you want to hide it
