Sophia Posted October 21, 2012 Report Share Posted October 21, 2012 You're only supposed to overdose excel if you're trying to kill particular kinds of algae. Saying that I think Zev uses it daily, but I don't know what for. I've found some fish and plants don't like excel too much so I stick to once a week, if at all. If you have a lot of plants they are supposed to eat all the comprehensive nutrients if they have enough light. Barnacle Posted October 21, 2012 Report Share Posted October 21, 2012 If your tank takes 2 tubes, I would reccomend a powerglo + daylight tube 6500K (the type you can find at the hardware stores).
