Water storage barrel, ex chemical barrel

I have acquired a 200ltr barrel to cure some coral rock.

On the label it says it was used for Farmguard Bactoquat by Orica Chemicals

So I did some research and found this PDF...

http://msds.orica.com/pdf/shess-en-cds-020-000000008668.pdf

It says that it is water soluble so I have washed it out with the hose a few time and can still smell a slight smell of the chemicals.

Is there something I can use to clean this better or should I just keep rinsing it until the smell is gone?

i have used a few different barrels but all had previously contained food safe products

any contaminants can be absorbed by the coral rock and create possible future problems in your setup

a lot depends on the grade of plastic used in the barrel

some of the ones i have used were blue on the outside but white on the inside

Get a 200l drum (ecoLab, FIL) from a farmer in which he had acid (Optimum, Optimum2, AquaKlenz, KlenzAlltemp or Jetset) for his shed. Triple rinse it, fill it right up with water, leave it for a few days and empty it - job done. I have one to age my water in and works fine...
