Wellydave
Looking awesome! Nice work on the trifasciata fry  I don't like how your friend on TradeMe is using false information to sell his fish The fish will certainly not end up looking like the ones in the photos. We do not get fish here in NZ that have solid red on the fins, and his one is quite yellow, not even close to orange even! It is still a nice fish though. gutted.. i really want some like the ones in the pics of the super reds!
Joe
Same. I wish we could get those here too
Godly3vil
From what I have been reading on Apistogramma.com Joe they reckon that the "super reds" as they get older their lighter colouring turns darker and it all depends on what you feed them. Try feeding yours some colour enhancing food instead of just live food and see the results for yourself. Also I didn't see anything wrong with him using those photos on his auction as he did state that it is a rough idea of what they should turn out like. No worse then what I see everyday on there mate. Godly3vil
Also the fish that I have are the siblings of his ones, look at the difference between colours there. I think substrate and tank decor play a huge part in their colouring.

Godly3vil
Thanks, had to put 12 baby blue rams in with the pair of trifasciata to grow out a bit so won't be raising the fry from the 1st spawn. Hopefully they spawn again once I remove the rams.
