Hi

Pretty much as per title, because we don't have HC in NZ I though this would be a nice substitute?

Or can I use Hemianthus micranthemoides to form a carpet by regular trimming to keep it at a low level kind of like HC?

Cheers

I had M. quadrifolia years ago so it may still be around. I have not seen minuta. I you are buying H. micranthemoides emersed make sure it is not umbrosum as a lot of that is mislabelled in the nurseries and it is only good for a terrarium. The leaves are a different shape.

I saw your picture off M. quadrifolia on the plant base. Nice stuff!

Or to anyone reading this what is a good carpet plant we have in NZ (if you disregard nutrients Ferts ect) for a Nano tank?

There's glossostigma elatinoides (aka glosso) in NZ - one of the best and most common foreground plants in aquascaping :)
