Duke
I have added a wave maker.... 4 x PH's The PH's make horrible noises when they start up each cycle and Mr Blue Tang runs for his life.... These are cheap PH's $38 each, do I need to buy new ones ? or do they get used to the noise. If so what brand and approx cost ?
lduncan
Most powerheads will make noises, even when used with soft start wavemakers. Pumps like tunze streams are made for switching and throttling and don't suffer from noise problems. Layton
reef
What type of wave maker do you have??
Duke
System 2000 purchased from this site, works great except the start of the PH's. What cycle speed should I use?
ZEOvitANZ
About half way on the dial. The Hagen 804's or whatever they are make less noise, or i had eheims 1060's that don't make any start up noise. But they are expensive Brendan
chimera
i'll have a couple of eheim 1060's available for sale in about a months time if you're keen on upgrading
reef
System 2000 purchased from this site Duke I fell sorry for you, system 2000 is a load of rubbish. They hammer your power heads and them they die. The power heads are not designed to turn on and off. Could try a eheim but it will shorten the life of the pump. I have add a few system 2000 products and they all failed after two years., just after the warranty expired.
