LYNDYLOO
Hi Guys, I'm thinking of adding Bird Grit to my external filter system to up the PH for my Africans. Would the grade of this grit be to fine?? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=456523542 Thought of popping it into a stocking then popping into the filter tray. Yup, I used it in my SA cichlid tank. Works fine, but I might suggest going up to one grade less fine. Hard to tell exactly how fine that is from the pic though. I tried the finest Animates had and it tended to make its way out of the bag and through the filter. Not really a problem, just annoying. blueether
I used crushed lime (from my olds' aviary) worked a treat to bring my pH up from 6 to about 7.2 - 7.4, granule size of about 2-3mm I would guess. HTH
