FishyNoob
Hi guys Can anyone recommend some tropical's for me? So far I've got Danios, silver sharks and a pleco on the list.. Also, whats the maximum one would put into a 200L aquarium? Ta! Oh! and whats the go on gravel/sand? I'm going to be planting it out as well, so would finer gravel be better than coarse? or would sand be better.
zuri08
skip the silver sharks everyone on here will agree with me that get huge and need lost of room like a five foot tank.i would go with cichlids personally but you could get angels, corys, fighters, tetras, etc
GrahamC
Can you put angels in a community tank? I was under the impression that you need at least 5-6, and that would already max out the tank.
zuri08
no angels are community fish they can be aggresive when breeding but not overly aggresive.you could get guppies swordtails platys there all nice community fish
ryanjury
Angels can be community fish but not really suitable for a community with small fish (guppies neons platties and other smaller tetras etc) as they get big enough to eat them, and they are also quite agro when they pair off. Best suited to a bigger tank (200L would be big enough for a few) with other larger robust schooling fish that get big enough that they dont eat them.. Li@m
200L..Hmmm.. Go for 2 or 3 Aspito's or Blue Rams, A large school (30-40) of Tetras such as Embers or Cardinals, The danios that you have will stay up the top and the other tetras will stay in the middle of the tank. Then add some Catfish such as corys, 8-10 would be a nice sized group. YOU WANT A FINE GRAVEL TO PLANT WITH!!!
Sophia
I saw Opie's neon tetras on the weekend and they were the fattest biggest I'd ever seen. I thought they were cardinals till I realised they were only half red. I would now try a few tetra in a matured tank and see how they fared, rather than always go for cardinals. These were probably double the size of the ones you get in the shops, I didn't realise it was possible.
Sheepsnana
Daltons propagating mix for the substrate + JBL fert balls... Trust me. Where were you when I was setting up my tank? I'm planning a re-do to make the plants grow right. Hi guys Can anyone recommend some tropical's for me? So far I've got Danios, silver sharks and a pleco on the list.. Also, whats the maximum one would put into a 200L aquarium? Ta! My Tank Set up your own here I love bristlenose catfish. Tetra's add numbers and colours, I've been told some fish nip the danio's tails. Silver sharks get way too big and only look cool either really small or really big, :slfg: Apistogramma or Rams will add some festivity, but I've read that the Apisto's will fight with the bristlenose(who may lose an eye in the process, scary!) I've got Golden Honey Dwarf Gourami. Nice and small, but FULL of personality. They play tag :happy2:
