GrahamC
I guess a lot of people move their own aquariums but if you had to use a local removal company, are there any specific recommendations. I have a fixed price offer on a heavy tank from TM and I am thinking of consolidating my various tropical tanks into one large one with dividers. After all they're not eggs! amethyst
I would never let a carrier company move my fish, we've always done the tank and occupants ourselves. We put them into several big buckets half filled with a tight fitting lid, then as soon as we get where we are going we chuck an air stone and heater in the bucket till we get it sorted out. Last time we also took 2 big rubbish bins half full of tank water as well so everything wasn't starting fresh .
GrahamC
Just talking glass and cabinets .. no water, no fish!
Adrienne
Removal companies do not like carrying anything that is made completely from glass. We are in the process of having a china cabinet brought up from christchurch and because the front corners are glass they have insisted that a crate be made for it. jim r
I had 5 big tanks and 5 medium tanks delivered from Taupo to Invercargill ( 4000L+ ) without any problems or complaints from the carrier company.

ryanjury
yes ryan but how many of those tanks where broken when you moved up to auckland? Out of 40 tanks they broke 4-5 on the way back up, but on the way down they only broke one.. They were all insured though
GrahamC
OK, removing NZ Van Lines from my list!
diver21
but their insurance covered the tank, so when they broke all the tanks they payed out the cost to get a brand new ones built.
