aquariumbeginner32
What would cause black rings right around the colored part of a fantail goldfish's eyes? I have seen it happen before and go away, now they're back again. :dunno:
#!CrunchBang
the fish didn't listen? :digH:

aquariumbeginner32
 It's starting to go away again. The rings are on the eyes, not around them. Sorry my description earlier wasn't that great.
Caryl
What colour is the fish? Lighter colours tend to show up stuff like this more. Perhaps it is a mood thing, or breeding display?
aquariumbeginner32
He/she is a blue fantail... so fairly light in color I guess. But he/she is the only goldfish in the tank.
Caryl
They can still have moods, or breeding inclinations, on their own Have a look at the fish from above. You can often tell male or female by the shape when looking down on them. Males are slimmer and very straight. Females tend to bulge a little on one side more than the other and it makes it look like their tail is a little off centre.

aquariumbeginner32
HAHA Anthony The rings are ON the eyes, not around the edge. Basically right in the middle of the colored part of the eye. And they're not clear cut solid rings. They are fuzzy kind of rings... if that makes sense. aquariumbeginner32
No it doesn't look cloudy. Just normal color with a black fuzzy ring around the centre of the colored part of the eye. Maybe it's normal.
