Caryl
Check the impeller
fishy-fish
yeah sounds like the impeller. I had the same problem in my canister and found that the hole for the impeller rod that runs through the impeller had been enlarged over time of use causing the impeller to "rattle & hum" during operation. A new impeller assembly should sort that out and give you back some litres per hour that you've lost too!
Zayne
so should i get just the sharft or the full shaft and impeller?
fishy-fish
so should i get just the sharft or the full shaft and impeller? Take it out and have a look. If the shaft wobbles around inside the impeller then the impeller will need replacing. You will see if the hole has been increased with use. It's a $20-$30 fix. Ira
so should i get just the sharft or the full shaft and impeller? I think they usually come together anyway.
Caryl
I was about to say what Ira did (so figured I would still do so) - I think they come together.
Beets82
When my 205 was rattling I found that the little rubber thingy that the shaft sits in was not seated well. I just put a bit of Vaseline on it and gently put it back and then it was sweet
