the-obstacle
or 3 Aqua One 1200s (if they're still on special at HFF?). I run 2 on my 700L and they're pretty good but the third would make all the difference.
David R
Agreed, either go for a sump or off-the-shelf canisters. BTW how come the tank is so tall and narrow? Those fish would all prefer a bigger footprint rather than a tall tank.
ryanjury
Just looked at dimensions too, it is always better to do for width more than height.. Are you getting it made out of 10 or 12mm glass? Going over 600 high in 10mm is pretty dodgy..
spidey666
ah tank, stand, hood are geting made by pete at port nicholson glass here in wellington i think he is making it out of 12mm but not 100%. yah i should of got it made wider but its to late to change as it has been already made  do you guys think somthing like this wuold work http://www.pondmaster.co.nz/cart_product23194-1-3131.html?Title=POND%20ONE%20CLARITEC%203000%20PRESSURISED%20FILTER or should i get a sump made??? zuri08
to be honest mate a sump is the most effective for your tank size david r will confirm that
henward
that pondmaster pond filter is only the CANISTER portion. you still need to buy a submersible or inline pump (whcih has to be verypoweful0 to pump water into that canister. that is designed for ponds - in theory it can be a giant canister but by the time you factor in the cost of that and a separate pump whcih you need and the power consumption of a pump, you are better off getting an fx5. FX5 is amazing, 1 will do your tank, your stocking is light - it will be more than sufficient. a sump would be good too, maybe a small canister and a sump or a sump with a good turn over submersible pump. you have to consider what pump you buy for your return pump. cheap ones have very veyr high power use, so spending the money now for a efficient submersible pump will be more cost effective and you get return on investment generally after 8 to 12 months! (work it out, it stacks up) sun sun pumps are 150 to 250watts. eheim, via aqua, laguna is half that if not less! mroe efficient. anyways, i would actually go for a canister if its not heavily stocked. you get better clarity of water with an fx5
David R
You probably should have considered the filtration options before having the tank made, I'm guessing its not drilled?
