reptilez
that auction would be much better than what you currently have and would be suitable for quite a few corals i wouldnt bother trying to make do with what you have at the moment the money that you would spend on new marine bulbs would go a long way towards buying a new fitting that may already come with suitable bulbs. ok..any ones that you recommend which are cheap but suitable ...a link ? thanks Heap Matthew
reptilez
i dont have the money at the moment for the T5's so i suppose i will have to do a FOWLR setup :tears: would some green star polys and green hair mushroom corals be ok with the T8's that i have ?? Ohh was really looking forward to get some corals...
spoon
you could give them a try as close to the light as possible ie high up on rockwork they may survive until you get better lights but is it really worth the risk?

Jettin
If its raised up high - maybe 12-15 inches above the water you will get a better spread of light. Hey guys just trying to help reptilez out here, What is the average cost of power for Auckkand? Correct me if im wrong but i did a search and came up with $0.20/kWh?? So im just working out what the cost of running this halide is for him. Say the 1x250W halide is running for 6.5hours a day, 7 days a week @ $0.20/kWh. = 6.5*250/1000*.2= $0.325 p/day or roughly $10 p/month Seems cheap, does it sound right?
