ally07
Massivore for these guys to grow up big and strong :slfg: +1 My ornate has nearly doubled in size in 2 months on pure massivore diet. He now eats 4-5 every night lol. Doesn't seem to get sick of it, getting longer and fatter everyday. No regrets buying massivore, it's a worthwhile investment. ally07
yay i have convinced everone of massivore goodnesS:D david and I got obsessed with them, well i did thats for sure a couple years back. finally they come in!! massivore is fantastic! What can I say? One look at your RTG and you cannot say that it's not good for the fish. I still haven't found ANYTHING on the market fresh or pellet-based that has the same protein content. henward
thats impssible. pellets are refined foods, its like taking all the meat, drying it so the % of protein vs weight is gonna be higher, but really, if you look at massivore for example, its generic stuff, of course im sure hikari has some patented stuff in there to help absorption, growth etc, but if you take FD shrimp, its just normal shrimp but cos its no water at all, the protein is higher in % due to weight and protein ration being skewed by the dry nature of the food......... ok i confused myself there, but i wont retype:D
Fruju
I will try to sort pics out soon, might need to put them all in viewing tank. Atm dels and palmas growing in sump. Dels and palmas are 2-4inch, sens are around 8inch, ornate at 16inch+. Doing a tank revamp since I am still not happy with the look, focusing on my bichirs, flagtail and ebjds. Joshlikesfish
http://www.hikari.info/tropical/t_28.html Crude Protein min. 47% I have brine shrimp flake thats like 40ish% but thats just crummy flake David gave me a few pellets to try on my L270. They didn't take to them. Boy did the pellets smell though
ally07
http://www.hikari.info/tropical/t_28.html That's the point - MINIMUM 47%. They don't provide a typical analysis but it's usually higher than the guaranteed analysis. For example, the Hikari floating sticks says guaranteed MINIMUM 40% protein but the typical analysis is 48% protein! If we just grabbed the same 8%, that would make massivore 55% protein lol. Henward, I think I get what you're saying about the shrimp, but pound for pound I think massivore still wins lol. My goal is to get my green to look like this:
henward
i agree, massivore is insane! you can get yours to that im sure though that green is one old beast!

I would have "Sponsored by Hikari Massivore" on my green if it can make it that size lol. But, we digress! Sorry, Fraser..

DrPepper
Missed a great photo op an hour ago... senegal, albino sen, delhezi, and one of my new palmas all in the same spot in the tank. How often does one see four different polys at once in a kiwi tank :happy2: , could have added an ornate from the other tank for complete set of five, but I fear it would eat my new palmas then trash the bolbitis and tiger lotus. My personal set a bit more rounded out.. And just did a quick head count... I've hit the 20 mark, I think I REALLY need help :nilly:
Fruju
20! Shot Stu! I am at 9 right now, may get an albino senegal to get every variant sorted. I will need to setup a little photo tank to take pics of the dels and the palmas, the biggest del on massivore makes the skinny palmas look tiny lol
