waterlogged
ok so I thought these were altums but been reading up and found They are probably just common silver Angels Can anyone help me out here?
phoenix44
Yep pretty normal... they're not even Peruvians which are the closest to the real altum that we can get. Peruvians are pretty though.

dreams
where did you get them from? Was it from 'just angels'? I know they sell peruvian angels. Wish we could get Altums here though! They are stunning!
waterlogged
um from the tepukepuke aquarium, Auckland North Shore, same as my blacks. was $20 for the 4 silvers and $8 each for the blacks I think
hovmoller
Wish we could get Altums here though! They are stunning! I asked at hff once... A ballpark guesstimate was around $500 each!! and apparently they are quite hard to keep - low pH etc. Very very nice fish though
acara
A mate of mine keeps altums,I'm sure he probably has photos/vids on finarama forum, name arabu1973.I'll try to get some photos next time I'm over, and post em up. They are not terribly hard to keep, once you get it right,he dosnt work,so has plenty of time on his hands to do water changes, etc. However, losses in transit are very high, and I've a few friends who got a shipment in,and have bought them from shops, they seem to be doing ok,then all of a sudden they all start dropping like flies.I have heard that 1 out of every 10 caught make it to a keepers tank. With figures like that, one can't help but wonder is it morally right to try and keep them. You're angels are very nice though,I have some similar.
Fruju
I believe I saw Altums in HFF Albany many years ago, only came in once, gone very quickly, definately not regular shaped angels.
