Are you allowed to "trap" shrimp

I found a mouse trap lying around our house today. Not the normal ones it's kind of a box shape and has a door inside so once the mouse goes in it cannot come out. Are you allowed to put a trap in the stream leave for a day and then go and collect shrimp? Thanks

I don't know about the shrimp but I would be more concerned about anything else that swam in there if you left it.

Hmm I can always release it when I come back? There are lots of shrimp but there dispearsed and it's hard with a dog in the water

You are allowed to trap them but I can't imagine it would be overly successful.

Try leaving the dog at home, despite the puppy-dog eyes?

No he wouldn't like that get some algae wafers and put it in there for bait maybe?

tire the dog out and tie him to a tree for a little, I don't think the shrimp would be big enough to set the trap off, and you would only get a few at a time if it did.
