Sand

Hi guys,

I'm thinking of going with sand but not sure if it will be easier or just a bad idea overall. I have four platy that produce alot of waste, 5 neons and a brisenose catfish. Would these fish be alright with sand? The filter is a top filter built in. The tanks an AR-126. 22L. I've currently got gravel and it's annoying to plant in. So good idea or bad idea???

With sand you just use the gravel vac and wave it about over the sand to stir up the bottom layer of mulm and then suck it up.

Or plant things along the front so you don't see so much crap. Also depends on the colour you use as to how much poop you can see laying around.

I have used silica sand (white) in my tank once, was a pain to keep it clean after awhile looks awesome too begin with though. If you were to go for sand, i would recommend go for something like river sand or anything that isn't white.

And i have sand in my tank :D
