Dwarf cichlid compatability

waterlogged

Recommended Posts

Hey guys I currently have a well planted 300L comunity tank which houses

5 GBAs (1M-2F)

9+ Panda Cories

3 SAE

6 Widow tetras

6 Angels (4 peruvian altums & 2 Black)

and soon to be aprox 50 Baby mystery blue apple snails.

My question is would a few different dwarf cichlids do ok in this tank?

I thinking more of the angles and whether they would be to bossy.

Was looking more at Kribs, cockatoos and maybe rams. either a pair ok each or about 5 of one species.

has anyone tried this?

My siamese fighters were originally in with the angles and they seemed to get on ok just a few neighbourly arguments.

Yep, I'd go for 2 pairs or 5 of one species. Once paired off and breeding they get pretty aggressive and territorial. It looks like you've got heaps of room for fish to get away and lots of good hiding places for some dwarfs so go for it. In good water all you should need to do is add little pots and apistos will breed as soon as they're ready (in my experience (which doesn't say much)).

Oh, I've got cockatoos and blue rams in the same tank at the moment and they don't really care about each other at all.

As far as I know these are the Dwarfs we have in NZ:

Apistogramma agassizii 'Double Red'

Apistogramma cacatuoides

Apistogramma eunotus

Apistogramma hongsloi

Apistogramma macmasteri

Apistogramma sp. Steel Blue

Laetacara curviceps

Microgeophagus altispinosa

Microgeophagus ramirezi

Microgeophagus ramirezi 'Electric Blue'

Microgeophagus ramirezi *German

Pelvicachromis taeniatus

Pelvicachromis pulcher

Shellies

Here's some pics of my Macmasteri: http://www.fishkeepers.co.nz/forums/vie ... =18&t=4001

They are very cool fish, and very active and peaceful. I highly reccommend them :P
