hey even though it doesn't look good are the stock halogen lights good for plant growth? was thinking of turning it into a strickly planted set up for a while with co2 and ferts to get it astablished. then maybe turn the temp down and put shrimp in and maybe a school or embers

No you would be lucky to even grow Java Ferns well with that lighting. There wouldn't be any need for CO2 anyway. :facepalm: I guess I don't really have to worry so much as all I have in my is sand and shells for the shellies :D But I'm over the warm lighting, I want something white!

I reckon the best bet is to find out which LED lights fit as plug in replacements.

Most LED halogen replacements produce a lot less light than the original halogens though. Not really going to work if your goal is more light.:)
