Jennifer
I just saw on the news that the city will be adding chlorine to the water supply. This may or may not affect your area but it would be wise to have some dechlorinators on hand (e.g. API Stress Coat or Seachem Prime) just in case. Most pet shops are still operating and should have these products in stock.

alanmin4304
You would need to assume it is the whole of the area serviced by CCC as of from now.
Jennifer
I saw on the news that they had indeed added chlorine today. I think I already can smell it in the tap water.

Deepsound
I didn't know Chch was the only city in New Zealand that doesn't add chlorine. I read the water supply was expected to be chlorinated for a number of months... http://www.stuff.co.nz/the-press/news/christchurch/597004

humvee
We're on well water out here so if anyone wants to get non-chlorinated water you're welcome to come out for a visit - just bring some containers to take it back with you

fishplants
I didn't know Chch was the only city in New Zealand that doesn't add chlorine. I read the water supply was expected to be chlorinated for a number of months... http://www.stuff.co.nz/the-press/news/christchurch/597004 All of Central Canterbury's water is sourced from underground aquifers - the same stuff NZer's (including Canterbury folk  ) buy in the bottles. Funnily enough, Christchurch cannot receive the highest water quality rating because no chemicals are added! The water is extremely pure, apart from the ever increasing amount of nitrates from the ever increasing number of dairy farms. :an!gry
