Joe
Um I'd just fiddle around with it until I'm happy With me it could take hours   There are so many different designs you can make out of that piece of wood and those rocks :bounce:
s3xtcy
Thanks Joe and Sophia, im quite new to the planting game, any suggestions? foreground, mid and rear? I might need to start another thread about co2 involving sodastream... Dont worry Joe, it will get fiddled with, and if its anything like my current tank, that could take months to get looking the way i want it. I could play with my tank till im numb in the face !drool: hahaha
Sophia
My personal favourites are twisted val in the background and/or corners, and crypts in the front. You have heaps of room and options though so lots and lots to choose from, I'm not going to go there!
s3xtcy
Haha thanks Im getting bored with the standard stemmy type plants, ive go a nice one on my piece of drift wood that looks like its dying but aside from that ive got not much idea about plants! Thanks guys!!
Joe
Cover the wood and rocks with various Anubias and Java Fern types, Xmas Moss, and Bolbitis huedelotii. That will look AWESOME :happy1: Then plant Cyperus helferi in the backround, and various green Crypts in the midground and foreground. Kinbote
Are you boiling the rocks before adding them? I got some from a garden centre that are very dusty.

s3xtcy
lol yes much too big for a pot, the best I can do is put them in the sink in the garage and keep boiling the jug and pouring water over them, is this reccommended? Waste of electricity. Just give them a scrub and rinse to get any debris off.
s3xtcy
thanks everyone, one of the rocks is very crumbly, if i scrub it too much it might disappear!! I will post pics of the tank when its all setup correctly

Adrienne
sounds like they are conglomerate and if they are they will dissolve in your tank ending up as mud.
s3xtcy
ok, i wont put in that rock then... lol thats the only "crumbly" one, the others appear to have a copperish colour running out of them (they have been in the rain all weekend) although they did have that colouring before, maybe it looks worse now that they are wet.. hehe
