Hey ID, do you have a laptop? I have been running a 450d via the EOS utility that is on the disk that comes with the camera, it can give you a live view on your laptop or computer screen along with adjustment and remote camera firing, saves you having to guess the settings and squint at the results on the display, or have to download them to see if they are any good.

It also allows for timelapse photography over many hours, but you will need to get a power adapter for your camera if it is going to be set up for any length of time.

At work for documenting exhibitions - dying to try out a time lapse, I have a cactus flowering on the windowsill at work that opens and closes in a day, but will need the AC adaptor for the camera. It really chews the laptop battery as well, usually get five hours out of it, but running the camera I am lucky if I get two.
