antwan
As per title, where are the best spots to find driftwood around this area, coming from chch?
bdspider
Mama went to Hokitika beach but she says there wasn't much there. I didn't ask if you could have her piece yet... Only if you don't find something better. She suggested looking nearer the river mouths.

hovmoller
Have a look on google earth... You can definitely see the main spots where driftwood always gather. And yes beside big river mouths (that comes through forrested land)
Caryl
The mouth of the river at Hokitika is good and the rata and rimu is already waterlogged Better than getting any of the dried stuff that is lying about all over the place. Best time to go is after stormy weather or river floods as more washes down then.
