livebearer_breeder
Do pictus cats have any personalty? Shae
CatBrat
The Pictus are a schooling catfish and do best in groups of at least 4. I'm not sure about their personality, but the are very active and you should be able to see them heaps. Cheers, CatBrat.
Ira
Nope, pictus cats have no personality at all. Horrible horrible fish, pet shops won't take them back so don't even bother trying. Only thing you can do is sell them to me. I'll give you $5 each.
kim
they are lovely but will eat small fish as they get bigger so say good by to your tetras they are fun fish .... make sure you have a lid on your tank they will jump out
livebearer_breeder
There is a full lid, but they are in with Angels and there baby angels, will they eat the baby angels? And no Ira i think there really cute, im not selling them. Shae
livebearer_breeder
yeah i got them from animates, i think there reall cool, and there a bit psycho! i dont know how to feed them? they dont stop to eat bloodworms or daphnia or mossy? Oh well looks like i might have to grow the baby angels up a bit more before they go into the knew commmuntiy tank. Shae
Ira
Seriously though, they'll eat practically anything. Mine does anyway. Just races around the tank hoovering up whatever food he runs near. Angel fry might get eaten, but after a month or two they'd be far too big for the Pictus to eat. Neons and things wouldn't be hard for them full grown though. Imagine trying to swallow a small plate compared to a sausage.
livebearer_breeder
the angel fry are about 2 months old and the size of a fully growin neon. I think my cats will eat when they settle down, or there eating when im not watching, i have a male and a female Shae
Disneyworld
I had a catfish (not sure which type) until Thursday. I thought he had perished, kept a low propfile, but when I cleared the tank he appeared in his full glory, fat as a piglet (so that's where my neons went ) Jude took him, but donated the ugly fellow to the Hutt pet centre in return. He might still be there, worth a try????

livebearer_breeder
ones fat in the middle and ones not. I am knew to bootom dwellers i got m first BNs about a month ago, know i have 2 BNs 4 bronze corydoras and 2 pictus cats, I intend on buying 4-6 more, and having a crack at breeding them. make a bit of money Shae
Rob
What length are the Pictus you've got? Most of the ones for sale in pet shops are only juveniles - they should get to about 20cm long. They also seem to be quite active swimmers so appreciate a reasonably large and uncluttered bottom area.
Disneyworld
Mystic, I'm thrilled he has a good home too - I got him to clean the tank, and found he was oh so lazy...with his long whiskers and round body he reminded me of some psychotic boyfriend I used to have, hence the ugly bit
jude
Oops, sorry everyone. I did want him but on the way home I realised he was likely to wreck my tank - too big for all the new planting. I had a mental block and couldn't think of anyone who might want him so went to the pet shop. Glad you got him mystic but I wish now I had thought to put him in a bucket and ask on this list I promise to give it more thought next time .......... Ira
He probably wouldn't have caused any problems at all with your plants. Mine at least is very calm most of the time and even when I'm lucky enough to see him out he's calmly gliding around.
