oscnz Posted October 25, 2010 Report Share Posted October 25, 2010 I have a 585lph Rena filter and I was wanting to up the flow to around 1000lph but i couldnt find a pump so i got a powerhead I had laying round anf it it to the intake of the filter so now its flowing much faster with 2 pumps my question is would this be a viable long term solution or should I upgrade the filter? Smallreefer Posted October 25, 2010 Report Share Posted October 25, 2010 If I were you I would just stick with the stock set up for your HOB filter and add the power head somewhere else in the tank that way you can position it to cover a different area from the filter to avoid dead spots ect.
