LYNDYLOO
Splish Splash Tank Never heard of them before Cant see any reason why you couldn't add a heater to turn it into a Tropical Tank What are the dimensions of the Tank??? I've just googled it, should be fine
johnny walker
yeah its by aqua one the dimensions are 40cm long x 27cm high x 25cm wide so would it be ok ? and how many fish or what fish could go in it. thanks soo much
SamH
I'd stick to one fighter or 6 ember tetras. Similar to cold water, all you need extra is a heater. 55W aquaone should be fine.
LYNDYLOO
Your tanks about 25 ltrs then, I wouldn't be popping much in it, maybe a nice school of Neon Tetras or Cardinals, they're nice and bright, be nice for a small tank. henward
id ditch the splish and splash and upgrade to a 2 to 3 feeot to be honest not worth really having a comm tank that small in my opinion. youc nt fully appreciaet the schooling effect of small fish and tetras
LYNDYLOO
I do agree with you henward, but not all of us can have whooping big tanks like yours  I think Cardinals look great in a good sized group.
SamH
BUT this tank is good for fighters. Don't disregard a tank just because you can get a better one.

johnny walker
so a fighter sounds like the best option for my size tank? but are they an alright fish to keep for a begginer in tropical?
Ice222
Yep, they are one of the easiest fish to care for imo, and fun to watch. make sure you have some decorations or plants, they like to lean on things, hide behind things, as well as general investigation of deco. Mine sure is a nosey fella at least .
SamH
I agree with Ice. Just be careful with feeding them too much, try not to ever let them get that "marble" belly. Live plants are really good for them.
johnny walker
Can I still breed siamese fighters with neon tetras and algae eaters in the tank? Cheers :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
Joshlikesfish
Can I still breed siamese fighters with neon tetras and algae eaters in the tank? Cheers :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: To breed them you need a lot of space. Multiple tanks.
SamH
Can I still breed siamese fighters with neon tetras and algae eaters in the tank? Cheers :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: No, they need their own tank with no sand or gravel on the bottom, shallow water level and elevated temperatures. Plus the neons will eat the eggs. Ice222
Not a good idea. you'd either have to have lots of dying fish involved, or lots of tanks/huge tanks to house all the babies in. Considering that you can't afford a Larger tank than a splish splash, it's really not a good idea.
