flatfish
I just brought a broad leaved, fairly compact sword plant labelled as Echinodorus parva with numerous pups attached. I tried looking it up on the net and although there is an Echinodorus parviflorus which looks very similar there doesn't appear to be an E. parva. I'm assuming this is simply a mislabelled Echinodorus parviflorus? Any thoughts? I note there is a Cryptocoryne parva.
A-town...
have you got a picture. parvoflourus(sp.) has a unusual tip on each leaf like a small pointy tip.
alanmin4304
Parviflorus also has a hammered look to the leaf
flatfish
Thanks guys. I've had a look and based on the small pointy tip and hammered it looks like it is E. parviflorus. I'll get a pic shortly and post it here to confirm.
cesarz
If you bought it from Hutt Pets, that one is Echinodorus parviflorus "Tropica", used to be wrongly called parviflora or parva
flatfish
thanks Cesar. Yes it was from Hutt Pets
alanmin4304
Thanks cesarz. I forgot the"tropica". I have one emersed with a string of pups on it. First year I have had them so hoping to get some out there later. Nice wee plant. Didn't do much submersed but is prolific emersed. Probably didn't like my low light tank.
