Zayne
just wondering how large discus handle shipping?
phoenix44
A lot better than very small ones. Ask the seller to individually bag the fish, and wrap each bag in a piece of news paper. Wholesalers use an opaque plastic sleeve.

phoenix44
How large is large? I don't know if you have seen my discus, but they were shipped. The Rose Red and the late Blue Diamond were large and were fine.
ryanjury
I guess it also depends on the person shipping them? Some people are happy to ship but terrible at it, a friend of mine here got some discus shipped the fish were not the size described terribly bagged no heatpad etc etc etc but shipped at his risk so he had no luck getting any replacements on the 2 dead ones.. firefish
I had fish shipped down from Auckland a couple of times. I brought the fish from the same person both times and they used the same courier. The I watched the first courier run up the stairs with the poly box under his arm. The second courier passed the box over so gently - like he was scared that bumping it slightly would kill the fish! both boxes were labelled in the same way (including "live tropical fish") I've still got all the fish I recieved - the ones that were handelled badly have been living here for about 15 months. No problems
A-town...
Depends on how they throw the discus and at what angle, im sure betrice would be your best bet
