is this a red tail or rainbow shark

saw this shark on trademe and was wondering if it's a redtail shark with extra red.. or a rainbow shark missing some red..

Looks like a red finned shark to me.

It's got the body shape of a rainbow, redtail backs are usually pitch black and slimmer.

Common names rainbow or redfin shark (Epalzeorhynchos frenatum, Labeo frenatus) I think. Very pale.

the easiest way to tell the 2 fish apart, is by looking at the dot near the tail fin. rainbows have it and red tails do not.

as far as mannerisms go, red tails are more twitchy and agro, but are also prettier.

Yeah, a little dot near the tail is so much easier and obvious than the 4 big waving red fins that rainbows have that redtailed black sharks don't. RTBS have black fins, rainbows have red.

They usually do. But there are probably dozens of subspecies that are sold as rainbow sharks and likely variation within them.
