Carlos & Siran
It's got the body shape of a rainbow, redtail backs are usually pitch black and slimmer.
Caryl
Common names rainbow or redfin shark (Epalzeorhynchos frenatum, Labeo frenatus) I think. Very pale.

phoenix44
the easiest way to tell the 2 fish apart, is by looking at the dot near the tail fin. rainbows have it and red tails do not. as far as mannerisms go, red tails are more twitchy and agro, but are also prettier. Yeah, a little dot near the tail is so much easier and obvious than the 4 big waving red fins that rainbows have that redtailed black sharks don't. RTBS have black fins, rainbows have red. Ira
the black pelvic fins threw me, I thought rainbows had all red fins. They usually do. But there are probably dozens of subspecies that are sold as rainbow sharks and likely variation within them.
