Tsarmina
Have posted this in the reptile section, but it's rather urgent we are getting an Axy tomorrow from a friend, who's son has moved out and left the axy behind. she doesn't want it, and asked if we could take it (and we said yes  ) apparently it won't eat the axy food from the pet shop, so need some alternatives to feed it. whats the best tank set up, inside / outside, etc TIA

Zev
What are they feeding it at the moment, have you asked them?
supasi
I used to feed mine on Garden worms(they loved them and it gets them to actively chase the food. Even if its not hard for them to catch them, but Axys will become lazy and just sit there and let you drop the food in its mouh) I also fed bits of fresh fish and beef heart. I tried to avoid feeding too much of the dried food. HTH
Caryl
Ours ate worms too but you had to wiggle them in front of the stupid animal's face or it didn't recognise it as food
dantedobe
Ours love worms, shrimp, beef, heart etc...
Insect Direct
probably just over fed Caryl they are lazy though, but if not fed too much they will even come upto the surface of water and feed from your hand. Well sort of, i dangle meat or bugs on waters surface so they see the movement. Most of the time i just chuck it in though and they find it. Otherwise i use to put on kebab stick then put in from of them etc they eat worms, crickets, locusts, fish, ox heart or any lean red meat. no substrate i find best.
