Olly
I've noticed a white fungus type growth in the gravel in my tank. it is a whole lot of white dots connected by transparent membranes. I've never seen anything like it before. I'm thinking it may be caused by the antlers I put in the tank recently, or the gravel which was sourced from the beach at Wairoa. The fish are breathing heavily at the surface and don't look happy. I've done a big water change and will remove the antlers tomorrow. How do I get rid of the fungus? (if that's what it is)
livingart
probably a strip down and wash the gravel can you add more water movement to tank, airstones etc
Olly
A week ago I added two airstones and a fluval 404 to the tank. I will try to get some photos
ryanjury
That sounds really weird.. Have you tried vacuuming it out and doing massive water changes? You aren't overfeeding are you? Although I don't think much would go uneaten in your tank..
Olly
I vacuumed most of it out last night, but there is still some in there and the fish aren't too happy even after a 50% water change. I feed them a fair bit but no more than they can eat immediately, and only good quality food too (Hikari)
livingart
i would suggest that it maybe the antlers as they are originally a growing organism just a thought

Sounds like probably it's just the normal fluff you get growing on uneaten food.
