AquaVitamins
Would silicone be suitable to bond the lighting unit clips to the roof of the aquarium lid?? How much weight can silicone hold? The total weight of the lights and reflector isnt very heavy
Ira
Would silicone be suitable to bond the lighting unit clips to the roof of the aquarium lid?? How much weight can silicone hold? The total weight of the lights and reflector isnt very heavy Depends how much surface area and the surfaces. In shear in many tanks it's withstanding 100s of pounds of force or more. However, I'd suggest you'd probably be better off with a really new fastener called "screws"

Barrie
i would run with iras' suggestion silicone is a sealant not a glue methinks Finally someone who can read and understand I dont mean to be rude (and I know that coment sounds rude) but Silicone is a sealant. Yes we use it as a glue in fish tanks but we should always look at using something made for the job
