phoenix44
What are the tank's dimensions? and how big are the Acaras?
supasi
I think what everyone is trying to say is that there is usually more to it than can I put "these" fish together. What size tank? What size fish? What sex fish? ETC Try researching the fishin question and you will see they come from different regions and have different needs. Can I put a human and a Tiger together? The answer is yes., BUT one will be saying mmmm Lunch and the other will be doing its best to avoid being lunch.
4Court
The tank is 200l And the fish are between 5-7cm There is a pair of all of them except the e yellows The blue acaras areabout 6 cm
supasi
Ok, But any reason you are writing in big bold font? If there is a pair of acaras then they will have a go at most things, even twice the size of themselves, if they are spawning. I have Acara so can speak from first hand experiance. You may be ok with plenty of plants and or rocks or hiding places, but if it was me I wouldnt do it.
David R
blue acaras are a bit small to be paired up at 6cm, or by "pair" do you just mean "two of"? A pair usually implies a male and female breeding pair. Now, to hopefully put an end to these "can fish A go with fish B?" posts.... In the old days before the internet we used to have to read books that described fish, their personalities and requirements, then make educated guesses at what would co-exist with what. You're never going to learn anything if every time you have a question you get the answer spoon-fed to you by people on internet forums. Try looking at sites like www.planetcatfish.com or http://www.cichlid-forum.com/ that have profiles of species, so you can learn about the requirements of the fish you have (or ideally do it before you buy so you know what you're getting in for), you'll probably be able to answer these questions yourself. Fish are not lego, its is never as simple as saying yes/no fish A will live with fish B. Tank size (and shape), decor, water, maintenance schedule etc all influence what can and can't be kept. A little bit of planning and research will go a long way and will almost certainly save you money when starting out.

livingart
Are eletric yellows, blue acaras and kribs ok in the same tank as my 5cm whiptail. a 5cm whiptail is not much more than a couple of mouthfuls it will depend on the size of the other fish involved a lot of forums are about people asking questions
David R
a lot of forums are about people asking questions The question is where do you draw the line? Every time someone new to fish keeping joins a forum do you go over the same old stuff about cycling, stocking, and why you shouldn't pull the tank to bits every month and scrub everything, or do you tell them to do a search and read over old posts? There has to be a balance somewhere between enough new stuff to keep the old and knowledgeable people interested, and enough basic information to hook in the newbies. I usually don't even look at threads like this let alone provide useful answers, there is so much information out there yet people seem less and less willing to take it upon themselves to learn things.
