SamH
I'm not having very much luck with my fish really First they got whitepot and now this: It's quite prominant and has only appeared in the past two or three days. What is it? What can I do about it? Thanks
Scottie841
To me it looks like pop eye. You could try Furan2 but by they time they look like that it is normally too late Good luck and keep us posted on how well you get on treating it
phoenix44
pop eye. furan II or e.mycin you will need to do a full course of the antibiotic http://www.fishyfarmacy.com/fish_diseases/eyes.html
SamH
He's a great looking fish. Are you sure? It's more of a film over his eye rather than the eye itself "Popping" out.

Scottie841
You will need it in 24 hours or the fish will be dead. Sorry but I have found that it takes them very quickly
SamH
I hope it's not too painful for him
Stella
Ew, and ow! What else can you use that is antibacterial? I would use 1tsp salt per litre of water in the mean time as that is antibacterial, but not sure how that sort of fish goes in salt. If you use another med just be careful not to mix them! Good luck...
Adrienne
fighter will be fine in salt, 1 grm per litre. I find that pop eye will resolve itself normally with clean salted water and have never lost a fish to it yet.

Jennifer
That is excellent, well done! I wonder if it was an osmotic effect drawing the fluid out of the eye...? Does anybody know why this condition occurs? How long can you leave a freshwater fish in saltwater before they get dehydrated?
